Our faith tells us that a meaningful life isn’t about having more stuff. It’s about finding more love and hope in the everyday and ordinary. Through generous gifts of time and talent, our educational programs enrich the lives of our young families, middle & high schoolers, adults and teachers.
Educational opportunities include essential and relevant christian education, adult faith formation, spiritual study/discussion groups, confirmation classes, Our Whole Lives programming, continuing education for our pastor’s spiritual growth, and Theology on Tap.
We provide a nursery with loving, quality childcare for babies, toddlers and preschoolers with story-telling, music and activities during worship. Just ask. One of our members will show you the way.
Our Spirit-filled Sunday School program is offered throughout the school year for PreK-8th grade. After the first portion of worship, children are invited to follow their fun-loving volunteer teachers and parent helpers to classrooms. We strive to create space for learners to be open to God’s spirit, valuing their unique abilities, interests, insights and questions.

Our confirmation program is offered in ninth grade as it is a significant time of transition for most young people. It is the first real opportunity for adult introspection regarding a variety of life decisions. Confirmed and unconfirmed 10th, 11th and 12th grade students are also welcome to attend! For over 20 years, April school vacation week has launched our youth mission trip. South Church sends an enthusiastic group of well-prepared and hardworking high school youth and adults to repair homes of the rural families, migrants, and elderly.
Summer of Service is a Haystack award-winning community service program for middle and high schoolers. Participants engage in hands-on local service projects. Afternoons are filled with fun activities. Fridays are beach days! Registration opens mid-spring. While priority is given to church members, all are welcome!

Jesus was a person of action – and he calls on us to be a people of action in his name. Click here to read more about the Social Justice Coalition.
Theology isn’t only the stuff of dense books and dead theologians – it happens any time we name God at work in the world. Once a month, Theology on Tap gathers at a local establishment to engage in that holy work over a drink – whether alcoholic or not.
All are invited to attend our inter-generational bible study group, whether or not you reside at Edgewood, a retirement community. You are welcome to attend as a regular member or on a “drop-in” basis.
